A Walk in Jamaica

I had the great pleasure of travelling to Jamaica and I was sure to bring my camera along. I was not there for a great period of time and did not go to a great deal of places – so images taken are not me capturing the spirit of Jamaica – but what the trip did offer me were many moments of peace.

As I tend to, I decided my photo outing would be done in a morning walk. And this became a moment of peace as stillness was washing over such a vibrant place. It was like the atmosphere was taking a breath. In these quiet moments of glorious sunrise and animals reclaiming their space as the humans slept, I could open myself up to a brand new day, and let a new place open itself up to me.

One of my favorite photographs I have ever been able to capture was taken in Jamaica – a sprawling sunrise to add to my collection. It was something beautiful to witness. What I was able to capture is only a fraction of the moment.

I came across a number of other little scenes on my morning walk. Through this quick and limited exploration, I still hope to have captured the peace and stillness that I was able to experience.
