I write to deepen my knowledge of self. I share in order to let that self be known.
I am looking to share more and more of my work. I cannot be sure many will see it, but this showcase will be here for whomever may find it. Whenever they may find it. Writing, photography, creating has deepened something in me, has shown me new levels of self, and I want to put those things into the world where they can be found. Where they can be known.
As an artist, it can feel like we are really just talking to ourselves. A deep conversation with every creation. But, I am learning that when we dare to share, that conversation takes wings. I can now speak to the “me” that lives in “you”. Admittedly, it does take a bit of audacity to realize that there is much more of “me” out there – but it is true. So, don’t I owe this to myself?

So, I have created small booklets that hold collections of my work. I may never create any more, I may create many more – but I will not hold onto these things any longer. I will continue to write, photograph, create and share. Because I have come to learn that my balance comes from both SEEKING and SHARING. For many years I have been writing and writing, thinking and thinking, seeking and seeking. I have found so many beautiful things. These things have become a part of who I am. An now I must begin the process of sharing.
I do not want or need the entire world to see my work. I am not sure I even need a single accolade to come of this process. I share as an act of communion. Or more honestly, in HOPES of community. I share to see if any part of me echoes in another. I no longer want to simply talk to myself or yell into the wind, but to send out voice that may resonate in just a few other hearts, to open up this conversation. I have once likened myself to a reservoir, repeatedly filling and pouring out. It is now time to pour out. I cannot guarantee that community will grow from this seed of sharing, but perhaps whatever does grow, will be beautiful.
