I began meditating in college, not well, but consistently. Although I had no idea what I was doing and could not put into words why I needed to, it was one of my best decisions. My meditation practice is not currently as structured as it began, but it is a crucial tool for my life.
When in a dark place, both literally and figuratively, these words came to me in meditation. Since then, I turn to them often and they can still be effective at bringing me out of dark places.
I shall walk into the darkness, without fear
for God is not only with me, He is within me
He shall guide me, He shall protect me
He is my strength, He is my peace
The world is uncertain…
…but my God is sure.
